l know this is a very ''biased'' opinion since everybody has their favorite (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that), but l would like to know which one, between French and Italian, you guys prefer to cook/eat/serve. Which one is more of a ''invite people over for a good meal'' kinda food?which one is ''easier'' to learn?and which one is more ''casual cooking'' (as in...ingredients are not too expensive, or does not take too long to cook, or a bit more ''Forgiving'' to mistakes during cooking, etc)?

Italian food vs. French food

i think italian would be the way to go - almost everyone likes it, and it is easier (and cheaper!) to cook. plus, it is my favorite cuisine ever!! i suggest trying fettuccini alfredo, homemade calzones, and eggplant parmesan. and do not forget the garlic bread!

Italian food vs. French food

Italian Food, I love pasta.

Italian food vs. French food

It is really hard to compare Italian food & French food.

Much of Italian food centers around pasta & the sauces used to eat with it. A lot of these sauces r based on tomatoes with a combination of additional liquids such as vegetable or meat broths & wine. These foods r healthy & fairly easy to prepare although they do require time to cook.

French food varies according to the different regions. France is a big country. but their sauces r more often based on the pan juices derived from the cooking of the meat & poultry. These pan juices r generally cooked down with the addition of wine, cream, & butter, or a broth, with salt & pepper added to taste.

In either country, there r regional spices that r favorites. Oregano, garlic, rosemary, olive oil r used a lot in Italy. France uses these as well but the flavors r more subtle.

Some dishes r particularly French, such as Fois Gras, Cassoulet, & Beef Bourginon.

pappardelle al cinghiale
tortellini (in every possible sauce)
gnocchi (aahhhhhh!!!! i become crazy with gnocchi)
farfalle al forno (farfalle is a type of pasta. fischioni, maccheroni, penne, fusilli, zite, linguine, spaghetti, spaghettini ecc...)
penne broccoli e pomodorini

or

bistecca alla fiorentina (rare steak)
involtini mozzarella e prosciutto cotto

arrosto misto alla brace

the italian menu is too long, this is the most famous dish.

Italian food vs. French food

Definitely Italian.

Italian food vs. French food

eurr. Chinese!

Italian food vs. French food

Both have their relative merits. Italian food is simpler to cook than much French Haute Cuisine. Italian grub relies a lot of the tomato and aubergine (eggplant) whereas French food uses butter.

Italian food vs. French food

Italian for all of the reasons you have listed above; easy to learn, great for company, it can be so simple and casual, and quite forgiving when you know how to correct any errors.

Italian food vs. French food

Italian because I think of spaghetti as Italian food. I do not really like french food.

Italian food vs. French food

Italian food vs. French food

Italian food fills you up. Anyone can cook pasta. It is also great for entertaining. Just look at the movies...people eating french food are normally classy and sipping wine BUT Italian food normally denotes fun and family!

Italian food vs. French food

I love classic French dishes, however if friends are coming round and its purely comfort food i would go italian. french dishes are expensie and take more time to cook and even learn how to cook.

italian is the easy option personally.

Italian food vs. French food

I think Italian is easy to cook and tastes great. Also it seems better for you than French. French food just seems buttery, creamy, and heavy.
